KOH CHANG

Queue of cars waiting to get onto the ferry
Koh Chang is 'Elephant Island'.  We were there in August, off peak yet the place was busy with tourists on their extended summer vacation.  As with Koh Samet, there are a few piers offering ferry services to the island of Koh Chang.  The most convenient part about this visit is that there is no need to locate a parking spot or worry about total vehicle parking charges and the inconvenience of having to use public transportation to get around, on the island.

A less laid-back residence for visitors
Koh Chang offers visitors a laid-back lifestyle, decently priced food and many shops selling swimming gear.  Tourists walk around in their beautiful pareos and brightly coloured swim wear.  There are many boutique chalets operating side by side with city-class motels on Koh Chang island. This is ideal for visitors who may like a quiet vacation, yet are not beach-goers therefore, preferring to just unwind within the ambiance of city-styled residences.

We didn't stay on Koh Chang, therefore we didn't have the opportunity to actually explore the island but an afternoon there gave us a good idea of just how serene this island is and we did leave with thoughts of returning for a stay next time.
